ScribScrab is an augmented reality application that allows users to freely draw in a virtual space, offering the option to share their creations with friends or save them locally. Once a drawing is completed, an intriguing feature awaits: users can move their device around, witnessing how the drawn image remains stationary. ScribScrab opens up a world of creative possibilities where users are encouraged to explore their imaginations within the limits of battery life.

What is Augmented Reality? Augmented reality (AR) provides an interactive overlay of computer-generated perceptual information onto our real-world environment. This digital enhancement allows for a multi-sensory experience, incorporating elements like visual, auditory, haptic, somatosensory, and olfactory stimuli. AR systems typically merge virtual elements seamlessly with real-world surroundings in real-time, offering accurate 3D spatial alignment. This technology can enrich our sensory surroundings by adding digital content or provide a masking effect by covering parts of the natural environment. The immersive nature of AR integrates these elements into our perception of reality, enhancing our environment while still preserving the physical world. Unlike virtual reality, which substitutes reality entirely with a simulated environment, augmented reality immerses users in a blended realm of real and virtual experiences. Terms such as mixed reality or computer-mediated reality are often used interchangeably with augmented reality.
